Riko Eklundh

Riko Eklundh – Reciter

Riko Eklundh (born 1965) graduated from the Theatre Academy Helsinki 1989 and is thus celebrating this year his 25th anniversary on stage. He started his career at the Turku Swedish Theatre but has mainly been working at the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki. He has also done a fair amount of freelancing with various theatres.

Riku has played leading parts in both musicals and spoken dramas. His most important musical roles include Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, tailor Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, Albin/Zaza in La cage aux Folles, and the Host in Cabaret.

Riko has held the principal role in Amadeus, Topelius, Peer Gynt, The Viola Road, The Dancing Priest and A Contract with God.

He has also voiced Snufkin in the Swedish moomin films and Piglet in several of the Swedish versions of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh movies.

Furthermore Riku has also participated in many TV-series such as Hovimäki, 16  and Framom främsta linjen. He works with radio and documentaries. He is a popular master of ceremonies and also works as a singer, both as soloist and as part of choirs and orchestras.

At the moment he plays one of the main characters in the hugely popular musical Mamma Mia at the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki.
